About me
Valencia Hood-Humphrey has over 17 years of experience in the biopharmaceutical industry as a scientist and quality assurance professional. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology (Pre-Med), Master of Science in Regulatory Affairs for Drugs, Biologics and Medical Devices, and is currently a doctoral student pursuing her Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) degree. Her passion for helping women navigate the various stages of their careers and advocacy for flexibility in the workplace for mothers and primary caregivers is influenced by her personal experiences and barriers throughout her career. With a vision and mission to not only help women navigate their careers in STEM and beyond, but the major life event of birth and becoming a primary caregiver and the impacts it may have on their career trajectories, Valencia founded FAAM Works.
A wife and working mother of two, Valencia is also a breastfeeding advocate and accredited breastfeeding counselor candidate. Her goal through FAAM Works is to also support women in their breastfeeding journeys at work and home.
“Your career narrative doesn’t belong to your boss, it belongs to you. You control the pen. Start writing a new chapter today.”
“We are much more than our careers and we have to be okay with asking for help and delegating. This is how we succeed at achieving the goals that align with our values at work and at home.”
